New Patient Information — Maggie A. Kleem, DDS

Starting with a new dentist can feel daunting. We make it easy — here's everything you need to know before your first visit.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

1

Warm Welcome & Paperwork

Arrive a few minutes early to complete your patient registration and medical history if you haven't done so in advance. Our front desk team will greet you and get you settled.

2

Comprehensive Exam & X-Rays

Dr. Kleem will conduct a thorough exam of your teeth, gums, and bite. Digital X-rays (low radiation) give us a complete picture of your oral health from the inside out.

3

Dr. Kleem Reviews Your Findings

Dr. Kleem walks you through her findings in plain language, discusses any concerns, and presents all your treatment options — with costs and priorities clearly explained. No pressure, ever.

4

Schedule Follow-Up Care

If treatment or a follow-up cleaning is recommended, our team will help you schedule at a time that works for you before you leave. We keep it simple.

No pressure, no rush. We take extra time with new patients to understand your history and goals. Our aim is for you to leave your first visit feeling informed, comfortable, and confident in your care.

Preparing for Your First Visit

Having the right information ready helps us provide better, more personalized care from the very first appointment.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
  • Insurance card (if applicable)
  • List of current medications and dosages
  • Any dental X-rays from your previous dentist (if available)
  • List of any questions or concerns you want to discuss

Arrive 10–15 minutes early if completing forms at the office. This helps us stay on schedule and gives you plenty of time to get settled before your appointment.

New Patient FAQ

About 60–90 minutes, including a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, a cleaning if scheduled, and a personal consultation with Dr. Kleem to review findings and discuss any recommended treatment options.
Not necessarily — we'll take new X-rays at your first visit. However, having previous X-rays can be helpful for comparing changes over time. You can contact your previous dentist to request records, or our team can assist you with that process.
Yes! We warmly welcome patients of all ages. A child's first dental visit is recommended by age 1 or within 6 months of their first tooth appearing. Early visits help establish positive associations with dental care and catch issues before they become problems.
We completely understand — dental anxiety is very common, and you're not alone. Please tell us when you call to book your appointment. We take extra time with anxious patients, explain every step before we take it, and never rush. Your comfort is our priority.
